I'm Henry Minata, a self-taught artist who started out drawing and painting as a fun hobby based on inspiration from movies, video games, cartoons, and comics. I just love to create, even before pursuing art as a full time career.
My inspiration comes from childhood daydreams, where I liked to imagine things differently from reality. I would look at a tree and imagine it as something else, or change the color of the sky. It's a world where anything is possible, and I want to share that through my art.
My world is colorful, and I experiment with colors while breaking traditional rules in my paintings. I don't care for strict realism painting, where you have to paint according to the real world. Instead, I enjoy realism but don't want to be restricted by rules on what I should be painting. I use symbolism in my art, and people have called my paintings neo-symbolism. Sometimes I don't intend for a meaning, it just happens. That's what it is.
