Enda is not only inspired by nature, but by humanity and the beauty and generosity of the world. He recognizes the power in art to convey the human experience and to share our experiences. Enda believes that artists have the power to inspire and influence the world in a positive way. His aim is to ignite a curiosity in the mind that inspires a more connected and balanced world. He lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and two cats.
Artist Statement:
My art evolved out of my efforts to write poetry. Poetry was the gateway to self-expression, however, the inability to fully convey what I wanted to say in words, forced me to shape a language with form, objects, and color. The sculptures I create are abstract but grounded in an existential examination, personal experience, and emotion, exploring themes from life such as: beauty, joy, and death. My work is colorful, playful and perhaps whimsical, but its intention is always to portray an honest representation of my experience, which is inherently part of the collective.
Art is a response to what I see as the human desire for connection. In some ways the human experience could be compared to a group of people wandering in the dark, calling out, I am here, this is what I am experiencing, and listening; asking, where are you? what is your experience? I see my role as an artist to be the medium in which this communication takes place.
